Far too many for me to scan all of them, but some that I find most striking or otherwise interesting, I’ll scan and post as I go through them. For almost every one of these images, I lack identifying reference. Many were taken along the California, Alta y Baja, coast. Some are from Amar Street in San Pedro, California. Some are from Yosemite or other locations. If you wish to comment, or to identify some of the locations, feel free to do so.
The first four have 1961 stamped on their cardboard frames:
The next few were date-stamped December 1967
The next several appear somewhat older than those stamped 1961 – they were in a small box labeled, “House, Yard, Ban Tree, Very Good”
My mom wrote in to say: I believe the light house is Pt. Vicente in RPV as is the one of the
cliffs – Gayle probably made these from his sailboat. The car in the
driveway at 1329 – black convertible – is the one Gayle built. The
camper is the one Gayle built on the green pickup truck before campers
were popular. He drove that to Alaska when the ALCAN highway was all
gravel back in the late fifties.

Chris, The slide of the unknown woman in backyard wearing the blue/green dress with white jacket ( carrying white purse) is Hilda King ( I believe). I think she is standing in their backyard at 1329 Amar.
Am enjoying your efforts……thanks for sharing. Karen
Hi Karen, I’ll try to change the caption maybe this evening after work. Tried from this computer, and the change didn’t save. What was Gayle’s dad’s name? Didn’t they call him something like “Pop?” Glad you’ve enjoyed seeing the slides. I’ll try to scan the Alaska trip next weekend.
